Saving Charts

Updated this week

Save a Chart

To save a chart:

  1. Go to File → Save from the main menu.

  2. A folder tree will appear, allowing you to select where you want to save the chart.

  3. Click the desired folder, then click OK to confirm.

    • If no folder is selected, the chart will be saved at the root level of the tree.

Save As

If you want to save a copy of an existing chart without overwriting the original:

  1. Go to File → Save As from the main menu.

  2. Enter a new chart name to create a separate copy.

This is useful for creating alternate versions or preserving earlier work.

Saving Chart Images

You can save any chart as an image file:

  • From the main menu, choose File → Save as Image,
    or

  • Right-click the chart and select Save as Image from the context menu.

A Save As dialog will appear, allowing you to choose:

  • The save location

  • The file name (default name is the chart’s title, but you can rename it)

Image Formats

By default, MMI saves chart images in PNG (.png) format, offering high-quality graphics and efficient file size.

Other available formats include:

  • Bitmap (.bmp)

  • JPEG (.jpg)

To select a different format:

Use the Save as Type drop-down menu at the bottom of the Save As dialog.
